PCTH Youth Charity Ride 2014 will be organized by Youth Section of Chinese Town Hall on 21 December 2014, from 7am to 12pm. The theme of this cycling event is RIDE 4 HOPE ( health, culture, parent and child, charity).

The Dong Zhi Festival or Winter Solstice Festive is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese community. It is also a time for the family to get together for the making and eating of Tangyuan or balls of glutinous rice, which symbolize reunion.

As we all know cycling is one of the favorite sports, Youth Section of Chinese Town Hall would like to take this opportunity to promote Dong Zhi Festival to all the participants from different race. Therefore, there will be an exhibition booth for promoting and explaining this festival.

Besides the normal category (26km Charity Ride), there will be a special category for family where the family member can enjoy together in making and eating Tangyuan after the Family Ride. That made their day more meaningful.

Entry Fees for participants 12 years old and below is RM40.00 and RM80.00 for the participants above 12 years old. All riders who register will receive complimentary cycling jersey, food redemption voucher, lucky draw number and medal.

There will be also a charity food fair for participants and public for fundraising purpose. The sales of the coupons will be donated to PCTH Charity and Education Fund, Kwong Wah Yit Poh Press Berhad Charity Fund, Guang Ming Ribao Sdn.Bhd. Charity Fund, Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia Education Fund, Persekutuan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Islam Pulau Pinang, St.Joseph's Home and The Ramakrishna Ashrama.

Also would like to take this as an early Christmas celebration with participants and public.
