    KEY FEATURES
    • Real juice flavours for a light refreshing taste
    • 23g of carbohydrate
    • Contains caffeine (30mg/sachet)
    • Race proven in the World’s toughest competitions
    • Easy to carry and open

EnergyGel Plusis smooth with a light consistency and a dash of real juice for a great taste. It’s not thick or overly sweet. When takingEnergyGel Plusas recommended, the caffeine content can increase attention, concentration and reaction time. EnergyGel Plus is award-winning and proven in many of the World’stoughest competitions.
Which High5 gel to choose:EnergyGel PlusorIsoGel Plus? Both types of gel do the same job. However,IsoGelPlushas a lighter consistency somewhere between a drink and a gel.EnergyGelPlushas a slightly thicker consistency, but is less bulky and lighter in weight, which makes it easier to carry in larger quantities.
Please consider the environment and keep the countryside clean by taking your empty gel wrappers with you after use. We can also recommend using agel flaskto carry your gel on a ride or run so you don’t end up with empty gel wrapper during exercise.
Gel BeltandRace Beltfor carrying gel during the run are available separately.

    2:1 FRUCTOSE GEL
High5 DO NOT produce a 2:1 fructose gel. We believe that there islittle real world benefitto such a gel for most athletes. The advantage of 2:1 is that you canpotentially consume more carbohydrate (up to 90g per hour), but you would need to take 4 gels an hour to realise that benefit. The Glasgow University research tells us that Marathon runners will generally only take 2 to 3 gels per hour (46g to 69g of carbohydrate), even wheninstructed to consume more. This inability to consume 4 gels per hour negates the main benefits of a 2:1 gel formulation. So there is little upside to a 2:1 gel, but there is a major downside. A high fructose 2:1 gel would be very sweet, when athletes tell us time and again that they want a non-sickly gel.

The PLUS and X’TREME range of High5 products contain Caffeine (all other products do not). The Plus products contain a moderate dose of Caffeine, while the X’treme products contain a higher dose. Even in moderate doses, Caffeine can improve sports performance. Athletes use caffeine for caffeine loading prior to or during a major race, towards the end of a long ride, before or during training for attention and concentration and to increase reaction time. To benefit from caffeine you must use it correctly based on your bodyweight. Step-by-step guidelines on the use of Caffeine are provided in the High5 Faster & Further Guides. Research indicates that when taken in moderation, Caffeine does not significantly add to dehydration during an event.
